Tri-State Tour / East Rutherford, NJ

A total of 41 players gathered in Castle Billiards in E. Rutherford, NJ for the $500-added A-D Tri-State Tour event. Only one player could walk away with $630 for first, though, and it was Stu Warnock who was crowned king.

Warnock was among the winners’ side final four, and he sent Annie Flores to the B-side 8-5, while Teddy Lubis bested Christian Smith 7-4. Hunter and Dibuono continued on with 7-5 and 7-2 wins over Flores and Smith, respectively.

Over on the winners’ side, Warncock battled Lubis for the hot seat, but Lubis, who’d already won two hill-hill matches in a row, won his third. On the west side of thc chart, Warncock then went on to play Hunter, who’d managed a 7-6 win over Dibuono.

The semifinal match seemed up for grabs as the players traded games, but Warncock earned his rematch with Lubis with a 7-6 win over Hunter. It was well past the witching hour when the finals began, and Lubis, who was coming off a five-hour wait after his hot seat win, just couldn’t seem to get warm. Warncock put on a clinic in the final match, as he stayed in stroke throughout and delivered Lubis to second place with a score of 9-2.
