On the weekend of October 23-24, Tailgators in Ottawa, Ontario, hosted a field of 15 players for a $1,000-added event, including the 2010 U.S. Open WPBA qualifier sponsor by Tiger Products, Bell Cues, and Tailgators.

In the B side quarter, Veronique Menard was ousted by Darlene Gardiner 7-2 and Joanne Ashton defeated Krista Walsh 7-1. On Sunday the field grew smaller as Ashton kept the pressure on Gardiner, resulting in a 7-1 win as Gardiner settled for fourth place.

On the other side of the chart, Brittany Bryant was on her A game and managed to clear mine fields at the table, which kept her hot seat status resulting a 7-4 score, sending Williams to the one lost side. In her next match against Ashton, Williams managed to brush her feelings aside and played her best game on the table. With 7-2 score win for Williams, Ashton settled for third place.

It came down to Bryant and Williams in the finals. In the first set, Bryant missed safeties, allowing Williams to reach the hill 6-3. In the next rack Bryant struggled to guide the 8 ball into a safety and landed a lucky break to leave Williams a bank shot, which slowly gave into the corner. With a score of 7-3, Williams was able to play the second set in this true double-elimination format. The second set was called and Bryant hoped to shift the path to her side, but she didn’t pull through. Williams took advantage and jumped to a leading score of 6-1. Bryant kept focused but scratched on the 7 ball. Williams took ball and hand with confidence and cleaned up the table. With a score of 7-1, Williams claimed the title and qualifier prize.
