The Black Widow Invades Park Avenue Billiards
One of the world’s most recognizable woman athletes is coming to Park Avenue Billiards, located on Highway 17 (1580 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL). Jeanette Lee, also known as “The Black Widow,” will perform an exhibition, open to the public at Park Avenue Billiards from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m on December 12, 2009. This is a Toys for Tots fundraiser, so a $10 donation or a $10 new toy will get you in the door. $50 VIP seating is also available and includes a $10 bar tab. Afterward Lee will hold a free autograph session.
Lee was named one of the sexiest woman athletes in the world by ESPN, in Esquire’s “Ten Women We Love,” and among Aloette Cosmetics “Dozen Most Attractive Woman Athletes.” She has made television appearances on Arli$$, Best Damn Sports Show Period, Entertainment Tonight, Extra!, Hard Copy, HBO Real Sports, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Today, The Late Show with David Letterman and Live with Regis & Kelly.
In addition, Lee has served as the national spokesperson for The Scoliosis Foundation for the past decade. At the age of 13, she was diagnosed with scoliosis, a disorder in which there is a curve, often S-shaped or C-shaped, of the spine or backbone. Lee has undergone 10 back surgeries. Despite her medical challenges, “The Black Widow” is currently ranked the number three female player in the world and has more than 30 billiard titles on her resumes.
Lee is also the official spokesperson for American Pool Players Association (APA) and encourages people of any age and athletic background to participate in the sport of pool through the amateur APA Pool Leagues.

“APA Pool Leagues are a great way to for people who may have never played the game to get involved in the sport. The great thing is that anyone can participate, regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability,” said Jeanette Lee.
APA Pool Leagues use The Equalizer handicap and scoring system that allows people of all levels of skill to compete equally.
The APA, based in Lake St. Louis, MO, sanctions the world’s largest amateur pool league, know as the APA Pool League throughout the United States, as the Canadian Pool League in Canada, and as the Japanese Poolplayers Association in Japan. More the 260,000 members compete in weekly 8-ball and 9-ball league play. The APA is generally recognized as the Governing Body of Amateur Pool, having established the official rules, championships, formats, and handicap systems for the sport of amateur billiards.
The APA produces three major tournaments each year—the APA National Team Championships, the APA National Singles Championships, and the U.S. Amateur Championship—that, together, pay out nearly $1.5 million in cash and prizes annually.
