Seminole Pro Tour / Spring Hill, FL

It was a veritable who’s who of pool as 48 players converged on Capone’s Billiards in Spring Hill, FL, for day one of the $6,000-added third stop of the Seminole Pro Tour. The tough-as-nails field included Buddy “The Rifleman” Hall, who stepped out with his new line of Derby Cues; Tony “The Sniper” Crosby; Ronnie Wiseman; Steve Moore; Kim Davenport; Mike Davis; the Philippines’ Roberto Gomez; WPBA player Tracie Hines; and 14-year-old two-time Junior Nationals champion Landon Shuffett.
Davis was among a slew of talented players that showed to compete at the Seminole Pro Tour tournament this weekend at Capone’s Billiards in Spring Hill, FL.
Davis started out strong with victories over Davenport and Moore, while Wiseman followed up a 7-3 win over Bill Dunsmore with a hill-hill victory over Dave Grossman. After receiving a bye in the first round, Crosby sent James Roberts west with a score of 7-4, while Shuffett, who also received a bye, had a strong second-round 7-1 win over Bobby Livrago. Hall sent Jerry Calderon and Johnny Rocket to the left side of the bracket with scores of 7-3 and 7-5, respectively, before being sent west himself by Hunter Lombardo.
Over on the one-loss side, Raul Alverez, having jumped out to a strong 4-0 lead over Davenport, allowed the score to get even at 5 games apiece. He managed to close out the match, though, knocking Davenport out of the tournament with a score of 7-5.
Play resumes Sunday at 12 noon.
