Final Four Winners Set at Seminole

As action closed out Saturday night at the Seminole Pro Tour in Holiday, FL, the $6,000-added event that drew 43 entrants to Hammerheads in Holiday, FL was down to the final 12 players. At 12:45 p.m. Sunday, Steve Moore is scheduled to face Mike Davis, as Louis Altes takes on Justin Hall to determine which two of those four will meet in the hot seat match.
Moore, after an opening-round bye, shut out George McLanahan and got by Javier Chirino. He faced and defeated Yu Ram Cha 8-5 to move among the winners’ side final four. Davis, also with a bye in the opening round, followed with victories over Raymond Linares, Kim Davenport, and a hill-hill win over Tony Crosby for the right to meet Moore. Altes, who’d opened his tournament bid with a hill-hill win over Corey Deuel, got by Jerome Rockwell, Richie Richeson and Jerry Calderon and will meet Hall, who’d sent both Ronnie Wiseman and Donnie Mills west, before defeating Brian Brekke 8-2.

Over on the one-loss side, a host of top names went home to make way for the four matches scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday. Crosby was slated to meet Donnie Mills, who’d moved past McLanahan to be among the event’s final 12. Adam Wheeler, who defeated Jose Del Rio, will meet Calderon, as Han Berber, after sending Davenport home, squares off against Brekke. It’ll be Raymond Lenares, who’s fought back through four rounds on the one-loss side, who’ll face Cha.
Gone by the end of Saturday night’s action were Corey Deuel, Jason Richko, Ronnie Wiseman, Hunter Lombardo and Bill Dunsmore. Deuel came out strong in his opening bid on the one-loss side, shutting out Raul Alvarez, but he was bested by James Roberts 7-4 in the subsequent round. Richko, after an initial bye on the west side, was defeated by McLanahan. Wiseman fell to Javier Chirino as Lombardo was defeated by Johnny Rocket. Dunsmore got by his opening match on the one-loss side but was shut out by Richie Cunningham in the subsequent round.
