Sanz Secures Another Tri State Billiard Title

Fighting through the 30-player field at the April 15 Tri-State Tour event, Pablo Sanz was clearly in charge of the action at Masters Billiards in Queens, NY, which hosted the handicapped C/D 9-ball action.
On the winners’ side Sanz was quick to reach the hot seat match along with the only female competitor, Xenia Balleste. After a see-saw battle Sanz slipped by to reach the finals, while Balleste headed west.
Action on the one-loss side was controlled by Ed Miller, who defeated tour regulars Greg Hecht and Clayton Van Nortwick 7-4 and 7-6, respectively. Miller was on a roll up to that point, but Balleste proved to be a brick wall, slapping Miller down 5-2 to reach the finals and get another chance at Sanz.
The finals played out similarly to the hot seat match, as each player made small advances; however, once again Sanz had Balleste’s number and defeated her again double-hill, this time to claim the tournament title.
