Great Southern Billiard Tour / Hickory, NC

by InsidePOOL Staff
Jonathan “Hennessee” Pinegar swept the 40-player field at the September 8-9 installment of the Great Southern Billiard Tour to take first place unchallenged. This $1,500-added event was hosted by Randolph’s Billiards in Hickory, NC.
Pinegar began his march to the finals with a double-hill victory over Larry “The Truth” Nevel. He then went on to defeat Larry Black 9-4, tournament director Shannon Daulton 9-7, Tony Watson 9-4, and Josh Roberts 9-7 to earn the hot seat.
In the one-loss side, Watson and Daulton met in the quarterfinals, with “T” advancing 7-4. Watson also ousted Roberts after a 7-5 win in the semis. However, he was no match for Pinegar in the double-elimination finals. “Hennessee played just about perfect,” stated Daulton, and he must have, because he whipped through Watson in the first set, defeating him 9-2 to win the event.
