Orcollo Crowned Predator International Champ

Six days of pool came down to a 45 minute final match that saw Dennis Orcollo of the Philippines defeat Ralf Souquet of Germany to claim the title at the Predator International 10-Ball Championship at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The international event boasted representatives from dozens of countries and featured both men and women playing for the same title. The final four featured three Filipino players and one player from Germany.

Souquet had been playing well throughout the entire event. During the semi-finals, Souquet actually played a perfect match, no missing or giving the table back to Alex Pagulayan except for one time when Souquet failed to pocket a ball on the break. Souquet seemed to be more than just a contender for the crown after the 7-1 defeat of crowd-favorite Pagulayan.

Orcollo took control of the match early and never relinquished the lead to Souquet.

Orcollo took control of the match early and never relinquished the lead to Souquet.

Orcollo defeated fellow Filipino billiard sensation Warren Kiamco in a hard-fought match that showcased the talent that the Filipino players have become famous for possessing.

In the finals, Souquet won the lag, but that was about all he could do against the polished Philippines professional. Orcollo used shot making, great safety play and kicking skills to dominate the match. In the end, Souquet was unable to pocket balls on the break while Orcollo made balls on nearly every break and thus remained in control throughout most of the match. Orcollow would win the match 8-2 to claim the $20,000 first place prize and trophy.
