Lloyd Moreland took top honors at the nineteenth stop of the 2007/2008 Pechauer All-American Tour. Hosted by Sharky’s Billiards in Sedalia, MO, the weekend of December 1-2, this $500-added event drew 29 players.
Moreland maneuvered undefeated to the finals. In the hot seat match, Moreland eclipsed Cory Smith 7-2. Earlier in the A-bracket semifinals, Moreland overpowered Jeff Paxton 7-2, while Smith dodged past Bob Ferguson 7-6. In the B-side quarterfinals Brad Blankenship and Josh Blaylock dispatched Ferguson and Paxton into fifth place by 5-1 and 5-2 scores, respectively. In the one-loss side semifinals Blaylock eliminated Blankenship 5-1, but Blaylock was upended in the B-side finals by Smith 5-0.
The tourney finals proved to be an interesting battle between Smith and Moreland, as Smith won the first set 7-6, forcing a deciding set, which was won by Moreland 5-1 to claim the laurels.
