The 11-player field at Diamond Billiards in Cape Coral, FL, allowed some veteran players and one new player to shine at this month’s Tiger Bay Area Amateur Tour event. Tour regular Dee Minor smoothly and methodically sent players to the one-loss side in order to take top honors and win the first-place prize.

While Shelly Harrison and Minor were battling for the hot seat, Connie Mago and Stephanie McFarlin had a battle of their own going on. McFarlin came out victorious and won the opportunity to play Harrison, who had just lost, while Mago was relegated to fourth place.

After being sent west, Harrison couldn’t wait to face off with Minor again. She didn’t let the match with McFarlin stand in her way, finishing her off 6-2 in the semifinals. At first it looked like Harrison was going to make the tournament a true double-elimination format when she came out to a 3-1 lead in the race to 5, but Minor found her game and made a comeback. The score was tied hill-hill when Harrison missed a hard bank to allow Minor to sink the final 9 for the win.
