by Jose Burgos
Adam Kielar came out on top of the September 30 stop of the Blaze 9-Ball Tour to take first place. Hosted by Raxx Bar and Grill in West Hempstead, NY, this stop brought out top pool players such as Mike Davis, Eddie Abraham, and new points leader Mike Finger.
Shaun “Get Some” Wilkie led the top half of the bracket, whitewashing Emily Harrison 7-0 and Rob Pole 7-0. He then went on to best Mike Miller 7-5 and Rob Omen 7-1. Meeting him in the hot seat match was Kielar, who scored victories over Wali Muhammad 7-4, Matt Krah 7-6, Carol Martorana 7-1, and Mike Davis 7-5.
Wilkie and Kielar clashed in the hot seat match, and Kielar pulled away late to win the match 7-5, sending Wilkie to the west side of the chart. Meeting him there was Abraham, and though their match went double-hill, it was Wilkie who got to 7 first to earn a rematch with Kielar. In the double-elimination finals, Wilkie had to defeat Kielar twice. He won the first set 6-4, but it was all Kielar in the second match, winning 5-2 to take down his first Blaze event.
