Fury at the Big Easy Billiards Bash
Fury Cues was a proud participant in the The Big Easy Billiards Bash, hosted by Reggie Bush and Shaquille O’Neal. The event was held during the NBA All-Star weekend at the Hilton Riverside in downtown New Orleans on February 15th, and featured celebrity teams playing corporate-sponsored teams in an 8-ball tournament. All proceeds from the event benefited the 619 Fund, founded by Reggie Bush to support various causes in the New Orleans area including A Child’s Wish, the Father T Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity. By providing a premium Fury pool cue to the celebrity participants such as Vivica A. Fox, Terrell Owens, Floyd Mayweather, Torry Holt, Sean Payton, and many others, Fury hoped to show their gratitude towards the attending celebrities for their efforts to bring about positive change.
It’s still very important for people to realize that there is a tremendous amount of work yet to be done in the parts of New Orleans ravaged by Katrina. By lending their names and appearances to charity events such as the Big Easy Billiards Bash, celebrities can continue to keep the issue in the forefront of peoples minds, and help deliver money to charities that can work directly with the folks that need help most,” commented Matt Carter, manager at Sterling Gaming, which is the exclusive distributor for Fury cues in North America.
The event started with an 8-ball tournament, pitting teams made up of two celebrities and two corporate players against one another. AMA Distributors came out victorious and in the process won prizes such as two custom pool tables from American Custom Pool Tables and game room outfitting from Cuesight Billiards Supplies. Then ame a live auction, which raised even more money for the 619 Fund. After the tournament and auction, the party moved to an adjacent ballroom where performances by rappers Birdman and Paul Wall electrified the crowd in attendance.
