Day one of the United States Professional Pool Players Association’s (UPA) World Summit of Pool is in the books. The 31-player field showed up at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV, for this $20,000-added event June 3, with the winner to be crowned June 6.

“The event is going well and the players appreciate all of the sponsors that make this event possible,” said top seed Rodney Morris. Morris had a first-round bye and then bested Josh Ulrich. His next match will be against Canada’s John Morra.

Two event favorites have already suffered a loss, even though the event has only finished two rounds. Former world champion Thorsten Hohmann was sent to the one-loss side by Keith Bennett, while Steve Moore lost his second-round match to Mike Dechaine.

Morris will face Canadian John Morra in his next round at the World Summit of Pool.
