Derby City Bank Pool Continues, One-Pocket Begins

Seventy-one billiard players remain in the 9-ball banks division as round six begins. Players that have been banking impressively include Jeremy Jones, Jason Kirkwood, Larry “The Truth” Nevel, Sylver Ochoa, and Shawn Putnum, all of whom remain undefeated through five rounds. This division is scheduled to crown a winner Monday evening.
Early results from round six included the surprise elimination of defending champion Steve Moore by Jeremy “Double J” Jones 3-1. This was on the heels of a loss to red-hot Sylver Ochoa in round five, dashing Moore’s hopes to be a back-to-back bank pool champ.
One-pocket players spent much of the afternoon milling around eyeing the big screen for table assignments, which were delayed until 5:30 pm. Final count of participants isn’t in yet, but we will have an update later this evening.
