Corr Playing Strong at Turning Stone Classic

Turning Stone Classic XIII / Verona, NY

by InsidePOOL Staff

Karen Corr leads the pack at the Turning Stone Classic XIII on the winners’ side of the bracket, having sent Dennis “The Hatchetman” Hatch west with a stunning 9-5 score. The event is being held this weekend at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY, and boasts a $25,000 prize fund.

Corr, a frequent participant on the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour, demonstrated the skills that has kept her at the top of the WPBA rankings for so long in her defeat of another constant Joss Tour player, Hatch. Their winners’ side match was lopsided, as Corr played solid and steady throughout while Hatch was plagued with bad rolls during the match. Corr took an early lead and never relinquished it, going up 3-0, 5-1, and then 6-2. Through the match Corr managed to control the table and broke consistently well, while Hatch seemed to be unable to control the cue ball well enough to maintain the table. Ultimately, Corr sent Hatch to the west side of the chart 9-5.
