Davis Takes off Drexeline Billiards

A strong 46-player field came out to play in the Blaze 9-Ball Tour’s March 31-April 1 event, but the strongest of all was ultimate winner Mike Davis. This stop was hosted by Drexeline Billiards in Drexel Hill, PA, where room owner Bob Maidhof and his staff made the tour welcome.
Leading the top half of the bracket was Allen Hopkins with wins over Geoff Bauer 7-2, John Downie 7-1, Shaun Dobson 7-2, Billy Kirshner 7-0, and David Abraham 7-2.
Davis took charge of the bottom half, scoring victories over Matt Krah 7-4, Bob Whitfield 7-0, Matt Douglas 7-2, and Sam Quinzi 7-2.
A great match ensued when Hopkins and Davis met to do battle for the hot seat. Though the score fluctuated between the two, Hopkins was able to prevail 7-5, sending Davis to the one-loss side, where he defeated Abraham 6-4 to earn a rematch in the finals. This time things were a little different, as Davis took control of the match late and pulled off a 7-4 victory.
