McDermott All-American Tour / Middleton, WI
by InsidePOOL Staff
Tom McCloskey survived the one-loss side to emerge in the final match and double-dip Ron Dobosenski for the McDermott All-American Tour title. Held April 14 at The Blue Chalk Club in Middleton, WI, this stop featured a $1,000-added purse with 17 billiard players.
This double-elimination 8-ball event saw Dobosenski run undefeated to the finals, having outmaneuvered Tom Cox 5-1 in the hot seat match. Earlier in the winners’ side, Dobosenski had outplayed Pat Hall 5-1, while Cox dominated Jim Fitzpatrick 5-2.
In the west side of the chart, McCloskey took out Tom Oman 5-4 and then gained more momentum by eliminating Tom Cox 5-3. He then had to best Dobosenski two sets for the title, and he succeeded by a slim 5-3, 5-4 margin.
