Doric Smith took down the December 15 stop of the Pechauer All-American Tour. Hosted by Billiards on Main in Galesburg, IL, this $500-added event on a snow-soaked day drew 22 players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.
Galesburg local Smith took an undefeated march to the finals. In the hot seat match, Smith clipped Larry Miller 4-3. Earlier in the A-bracket semifinals, Smith overpowered Mark Hammerl 4-0, while Miller clipped Randy Tenley 4-3. In the B-side bracket, Mike Dunklin eliminated Brad Simpson at seventh place 5-1, while Jamie Carlson tied with Simpson courtesy of a loss to Rory Smith 4-2. In the B-side quarterfinals, Dunklin and R. Smith dispatched Hammerl and Tenley into fifth place by 5-2 and 4-1 scores, respectively. In the one-loss side semifinals, R. Smith ousted Dunklin 4-1, but Smith was upended in the B-side finals by Miller 4-1. D. Smith continued where he left off in the tourney finals, as he again cast off Miller by a 4-2 margin for the title.
