Mills Mangles the Billiard Competition

Capone’s Billiards in Springhill, FL, hosted the September 22-23 installment of the J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour. A field of 23 came out for the $1,000-added stop, with local terror Donnie Mills coming out with the ultimate win.
Mills enjoyed an undefeated run through the winners’ side of the chart, defeated Florida’s Tony Crosby in the hot seat match. Crosby was faced with tour director Tommy Kennedy, who had just eliminated Scotty Townsend 9-3 in the quarterfinal match, in the semifinals, and though it was a hard-fought battle, Crosby ultimately prevailed 9-7. However, in the final match, Mills was driven by a force to win, and he overcame Crosby 9-5 to take the title.
