Another installment of the Music City 9-Ball Open kicked off January 13, with the illustrious JOB Billiards in Madison, TN, playing host to 109 players vying for their share of the $6,000-added prize purse. JOB Billiards will be open 24 hours throughout this billiard extravaganza.

Top names present are Jeremy Jones, Gabe Owen, Bobby Pickle, defending champion Johnathan Pinegar, Keith Bennett, Cliff Joyner, and Manny Chau. Jones was upset in the first-round loss to Mike Dunklin, who sent Jones to the one-loss side 11-2, but most of the other favorites have won their first-round matches.

Pickle soundly defeated Tommy Nunley 11-2 and next will face off against Sparky Ferrell, who earlier bested John Gatton 11-3. Bennett sent Rick Patterson 11-5, and his next match will be against Steve McDaniels, who defeated Robby Jordan 11-9. Joyner won his first match 11-7 against Glenn Smith and will now play Chris Busby, who had a first-round bye. Pinegar bested Carl Codgill 11-3, and his next match will be against Matt Beckwith, who just defeated Andrew Haggart 11-8. Owen defeated Claude Marrier 11-5 and will go on to play Joel Howell, who had a bye in the first round.
