Women pros Yu Ram Cha and Jennifer Barretta will headline a select number of female talent to play the men at the Mezz Classic Aug 6-9,2009 at Corner Pocket Billiards in Orlando,FL. The Mezz Classic will feature two pro events with the Mezz Classic Straight Pool Invitational and The Mezz Classic 10-Ball Invitational which is presented by sponsor Ozone Billiards.
Cha is looking to make her mark on the event.
Ozone Billiards will also once again host the 4th Annual Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open which will coincide with the pro events. Brunswick Billiards, Simonis Cloth, Aramith Balls, Master Chalk, Laser Rack, and House of Billiards are top sponsors.
Other notable female players playing are Jeannie Seaver and Cristina De la Garza. Seaver is a numerous Florida Women’s Pro Tour Player of the Year and De La Garza was a recent winner of the BCA Open Women’s 8-Ball winner. Barretta, sponsored by Mezz Cues, was formerly ranked in the top 10 in the USA and winner of the Empress Cup in Korea, and is back on tour full swing after a 2 year break.

All eyes will be on the 22 year old Korean phenom Yu Ram Cha. Cha made a huge impact in her rookie year on the womens pro tour scene with a slew of top 5 finishes including a 3rd at the US Open where she defeated former #1 Karen Corr on ESPN. More notably, Cha is very seasoned against men pros defeating notable top men players such as Shane Van Boening, Tony Crosby, and Ronnie Wiseman. Cha will be a tough draw in the Mezz Classic for any player.
